First Fruits

I was down the garden first thing this morning, walking through the long grass. Watching the seed heads of the grasses by the hen shed shimmer in the low light and picking the first plums.

There is nothing like plums. There is nothing like coming upon the tree in the morning and seeing them bending the boughs down, and you bit into it and the juice squirts down your arm. And there are so many of them, and there are the other plum trees and the apple trees. We live in such abundance and can so easily over look it. There is nothing like abundance.

So I take a bagful into the office, and place a bowl of abundance for everyone to share in that place so that feeling in the first light continues throughout the day.

And I will do it again tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after....

Beautifully written Blue I have to say. You should do more of this style of writing.
I like it and I'm sure you're other readers and friends will too.
You're quite right about abundance. An abundance of food and drink is wonderful, but an abundance of affection, friendship or love is very good too.
I like the image of a bowl of plums in your office and all your co-workers enjoying their taste and your generosity.
Do it often.
