A surprising end to the day.....

There is some thing surprising about lying down, up to your thighs in water, tepid water seeping into your boots and trousers whilst the quiet stillness of the late afternoon is all around. Yet there I was, surrounded by the perfume of water mint in the meadows between our house and the river, rescuing the children from an ill advised excursion into unknown territory.

They were fine, with their light bodies, skitting over the submerged undergrowth and escaped the quagmire with water up to their knees. I was not so lucky, I sank unceremoniously, lost my balance, and forcibly experienced what many women would pay a lot of money for in a Health Spa.

However, I am bathed, scrubbed and clean behind the ears now, the ony reminder of the escapade being a full washing machine, and a pair of newspaper filled boots standing by the hall radiator.

What a delightful post Blue.
I'm trying to imagine you as a grubby, mud-caked, loving and amiable Daddy, doing good things with good people in good and wholesome places. It's hard.
All that's missing is the sound of violins.

Angela, I am many things to many people,as you have begun to find out. Opposites are very powerful things, especially when they are held together in close proximity...(I'll give you violins!)

I'm sure you are a multi-faceted character Blue, of that I have no doubt. Never thought you could be anything else my sweet.
So I'm still waiting to hear your music Blue, from violins or elsewhere...

Do not fear, my dear, you will hear my music, in all its multifaceted sounds. Just tell me when the concert is, and I'll be there.....

Yes, tend to forget we have grown up, are heavier-boned, and that our children can fly... Apart from all that, where you live sounds amazing, peaceful. Thanks re comment - wasn't sure about the ending (as usual!), so feedback is very much appreciated. Wendy

Sometimes the pictures you paint with your words make me giggle like a naught school girl. Lucky for me I am too old for detention and you aren't old enough to be my teacher,
